Sculptra is a collagen stimulator, not a facial filler, used to restore facial volume lost to aging or illness. It contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible synthetic substance that is injected deep into the dermis of the skin. The Sculptra process takes several weeks; patients gradually begin to look younger with time. It is not like a regular hyaluronic filler that immediately volumizes.
